it's 2013!

what a year 2012 was! it saw the launch of the photography side of P Squared Studios and i couldn't be more excited!

i was able to meet many new friends and clients and also met up with not so old friends. I loved every second ... and image... of it!

Her momma has been so great to let me practice on teeny weeny kate!

However, Kate hasn't always been happy about it though.

But, this will be the last post of baby kate as baby kate. Next time she maybe

I'm finally getting around to posting the rest of baby Kate. 

Not only did I get to take pictures of her when she was only 48 hours old 

but I went back yesterday and photographed her at 14 days old. 

We even got to sneak in some older brother and sister in there!

This is such a good looking family, as well as the nicest and most generous! I feel very lucky

to call them my friends!

These first two were at the hospital when Kate was only 48 hours old.

I don't think dad was too thrilled that I wanted to photograph him

but I have a feeling in a year he'll look back and be glad he has this moment

documented.

baby kate - 2 days old

You know how I told you that a sweet friend of mine, Sarah, was about to give 

birth?! As in, it could be any day?!

Seven days after we took these pictures baby Kate was born.

And if she's going to be anything like her momma and daddy

then I'll be proud to watch her grow!

aiden... part 2

Remember this sweet little man? He belongs to some recent-made friends. They trusted me

enough to come just two weeks after he was born. Being nervous first-time parents

they warned me he was cranky when he wasn't sleeping. So, I was 

preparing myself for a difficult shoot. However, I'm not

sure if they were talking about this quite, cooperative baby boy.

He was a perfect gentleman the entire time and didn't react to hardly any 

of the set ups. 

 It was also the first time I was able to get a dad in pictures AND both parents.

The shoot was definitely a treat for me!

I love this next picture because it tells a story.
As we were setting up for a shot I happened to notice,
what I thought, was a violin case on the floor. I asked Aiden's
mom if one of them played it. She told me it was a ukulele 
and Aiden's dad indeed plays it. He had played it while little
Aiden was still cooking in his momma's tummy.
I knew immediately that we had to incorporate it
somehow. I loved that it was very personal to them and part of their personality.


It also made me take a mental note that in the future I need to ask would-be clients
if they have any hobby, something personal to incorporate into their photos.

stina

Ms. Stina and her momma were great to work with. Stina was only six days old

when I photographed her. Most moms less than a week out (including me!)

are still very much adjusting and very much sleep deprived but

looking at momma you would have never known this. She was super laid back and went 

with the flow, much like Stina. 

I can't wait to see Stina grow up and become a sweet and fun young lady 

like her older sister, Alma, who just happens to be my daughter's BFF.

Another good friend of mine let me practice my photography skills on 

her month old triplets.... yes, not 1, not 2, but THREE babies. 

I knew I had my work cut out for me but I was super excited

and up for the challenge. I also felt very privileged in being able to document

this wonderful miracle. I'm just hoping that the mom will let me 

continue documenting them over the next few years!!
