10 on 10: december edition

I can't believe this is our fourth month of the 10 on 10 edition. Very exciting!

(Need a recap of what exactly 10 on 10 is? It's 10 photographers from across the U.S. posting their 10 photos on the 10th day of every month)

I've really enjoyed seeing the different styles of each photographer. Very inspiring and definitely makes me work harder for the next month.

After putting together my 10 photos I realized I had two themes going on :
THEME 1) 90% of my pictures were of my daughter because 90% of my time on any given day is with her. I don't end up with too many of myself because she's way cuter and, honestly, what's really exciting/interesting about me picking up toys, taking laundry out of the dryer, putting my hair up in a pony tail, etc.
THEME 2) Christmas is definitely upon us... yikes!

I hope you enjoy your journey and have a wonderful holiday!

Getting our morning started with a little iPad while momma does a little work.

Day 4 of our 25 Days of Christmas

Normally I would have inserted the infamous mall Santa Claus picture here but, alas, for the second year in a row she chickens out when confronted by said Santa. I don't have it in me to force her so what do we do instead? Go to Tar-jey.

Searching for that perfect Angel Tree gift. I have to admit I was a little lost in the boys' toy section.

and what's a trip to Tar-jey without riding the escalator at least twice!

After the excitment of Tar-jey we head home for a nap but not before a time-out. She was getting cranky.

A post-nap smoothie makes things better.

After a bath a tower of letters needed to be built

and finally, because it's Christmas time, a shot of a couple of our ornaments

Now head over to Ana Luisa Solis' 10 on 10 edition. Make sure to leave some blog love. We always like to hear what people think!

lil' d (aka tb)

D's mom is a good friend of mine from Texas.
Our nick names for each other's kids are TB (The Boy) and TG (The Girl).
It's just easier that way. Sometimes when you're a mom you just need for things
to be simplified.... less thinking that way!

Here's a few sneak peeks for TB's mom!

Oh, and I couldn't decide which shot of the balloons I liked best because
TB looked so cute in all of them so I ended up editing all my favs.

We asked him how old he was. So he held up 3 fingers. Way too cute!

We asked him to show us his muscles so he obliged!

showing off his muscles again but on a dirt pile, where apparently he LOVES to play!

10 on 10: november edition

Welcome to our november edition of 10 on 10!

New to 10 on 10? Here's the rundown: 10 photographers from around the US post
10 pictures in a day of their lives on the 10th day of every month. We link to each other's post so you'll be able to complete the circle of 10.

This is our third month and it's been alot of fun so far!

This month I was forced to mix things up a bit. I traveled to my parent's house in Texas for a week  (We live in Cali) and I wasn't able to  bring my "fancy" camera with me. I had to use my iPhone camera instead.
Not very "professional" but I made do. It did make me get out of my comfort zone  and see things from a different perspective. While not professional pictures by any means it did help me capture those moments that I had with my parents and my daughter with her grandparents. Oh, And the phone was MUCH easier to carry around then lugging my "fancy" camera. I probably ended up with much more "in the moment" shots by using my phone, which, of course, I love.

time for a little morning walk with grandma g

ahhh.... the self-portrait

one of my favorite things in my parent's house. Even though it's not in the house I grew up in my mom's sewing machine reminds me of all the Barbie clothes, pillows and outfits she sewed for me. It is a piece of  "home" for me.

gotta love real texas bbq for lunch

visiting the local science museum

time for a round of golf with grandpa (even if it's only one hole)

getting ready for a simple dinner

a little coloring before bedtime
(Can you tell who is spoiled at grandma & grandpa's?)

and finally the end of the day, watching a texas thunderstorm roll in.
